Over the last two weeks we have been learning about:
- Text Features-parts of a text that help us to understand the information better
- Graphic Sources-maps, diagrams, charts, tables, graphs, time lines, etc. that help us learn more about a topic that we are reading about
To bring these two ideas together and make them the most meaningful, after reading Dinosaur Ghosts: The Mystery of Coelophysis, students had to select a dinosaur research packet, find similarities and differences between the two dinosaurs using a Venn Diagram, construct written paragraphs, (a similarities paragraph and a differences paragraph), publish their work, and finally include maps, diagrams, and illustrations(grpahic sources) to create and enhance their final presentation. Students then shared their findings with their peers. I am so proud of their hard work! Please stop by our 6th grade hallway in the next few days to see their impressive work!
